New Yorker Style Hand Drawn Cartoons

Oct 23th This section is being built

The charming and simplistic style of classic, hand-drawn New Yorker style cartoons has become increasingly valuable, especially in contrast to the prevalent use of AI-generated artwork. AI illustrations are often recognizable from a distance, as they tend to be either too perfect or overly elaborate. Some contain distortions that can be quite ridiculous.

As a lifelong cartoonist and illustrator, I find AI art useful, but it lacks the fundamental skill that I possess. The New Yorker style is my core artistic foundation; it's how I first began drawing cartoons. Although I have expanded my range of styles over the years, the fundamental charm and simplicity of New Yorker cartoons feel like second nature to me. It flows effortlessly from my pencil—well, these days, from my Apple Pencil!
